The New King of Late Night

David Letterman and CBS came to an agreement that will keep Letterman and the Late Show on CBS for another two years, effectively breaking Johnny Carson's 30 year hosting streak.

At the end of 2014 Letterman will have racked up 32 years of hosting duties on late night television. That will push him two years ahead of Johnny Carson for most years hosting a late night television show. Letterman started his late night career at NBC in 1982.
